The Man in the Trench Coat is a story that reinforces basic morals and values, such as honesty and integrity, through everyday childhood experiences. It is also a metaphor for the little voice in our heads that tries to lure us into doing things the “easy way,” and not the way were meant to do them: the right way.
James, a happy nine-year-old, loves to play football and dislikes cleaning his room and studying for math. One day, on his way home from school, he encounters The Man in the Trench Coat, a character that convinces him to do things the easy way. James falls for his charm, but, later on James realizes that the easy way is not the right way, and that trusting your parents is the most important thing.
The Man in the Trench Coat was inspired by characters from the YA novel, Guardians Inc.: The Cypher (www.Guardiansinc.com).
"An elementary karate chop to those temptations that undermine our integrity".
